Vivekananda Retreat, Ridgely
NEW CLASS:
Jnana Yoga
This class will focus on the philosophy and practice
of Jnana Yoga. Jnana Yoga, the wisdom practice, is one of the spiritual pathways
to self-realization. The class will approach Jnana Yoga from the point of view
of Advaita Vedanta, or nondualism. We will study in depth the wisdom practices
of viveka (discriminative awareness) and vairagya (renunciation),
which form the core of Jnana Yoga.
Pravrajika Gitaprana will base the classes on Atma
Bodha (Self-Knowledge), by Shankaracharya. Atma Bodha is
one of the foundational texts of Advaita Vedanta.
All are welcome. Some previous experience with Advaita
Vedanta is helpful.
Class will meet on Tuesday evenings, unless otherwise
indicated on the calendar (www.ridgely.org),
at 7:30 p.m. The first class is on Tuesday, March 18. There is no charge.
